Joe Murray was a great man ! Great father! Very well respected , I admired him greatly, he was my father in law for 18 years and would do anything for his family. He was one of the best men I ever knew, first ballot hall of famer for heaven ! Although I might of never said it but I did love him very much !
Joe was the sweetest, honest and caring family man we have ever known. He led a life dedicated to his family and the community. He is sorely missed by all who knew him.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Murray family. Mr. Murray was such an amazing man, who raised an amazing family. We will miss him at all the sports/family gatherings – although I know he’ll have the best seat watching over all. Prayers to everyone. Xoxo
Joe was one of this nicest person I knew. Loved working with him at the shipyard. Always a gentleman who was admired by all. May God bless him and his beloved family. RIP.
In our lives we meet all type of people. If your lucky you meet special ones. I was very lucky and met many special people while working for the Navy at the Navy Yard. Joe was more than just special. Besides being an excellent crane operator, when he was an operator, Joe became a foreman and became an excellent leader. It was obvious to all that he was respected by the men who were assigned to him, but also his peers and his managers. I’ve had the luxury of working with Joe closely on a number of occasions and despite some of those occasions being pressure packed, he always succeeded. Yes, Joe was one of those “Special People.” But he was, at all times, a good man. Those who knew him are better, just for having him in their lives. There’s a hole in the world now that he is gone. Fair winds and following seas my friend.
My deepest condolences to the Murray Family.
Excellent description of one Hell of a man. He will surely be missed by a lot of people. God bless.
Dennis, what a beautiful tribute to Joe. Yes, he was special and we are better for it.
The Lytle Family
Joe was a wonderful, loving man. He will be remembered.
We are so sorry for the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, friend… and so much more. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. He will be loved and missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him!
Joe, as a 55-Year Retreatant with the Mid-May group, you helped bring men to God at St Joseph’s-in-the-Hills. These men, along with sons, cousins, and friends were all made better because of you. And their families shared in their blessings.
All of your brothers will miss you. I share the the last words of our Patron Saint, Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face:
“Oh I love Him…My God I love you.”
Prosit!
