Lydia “Didge” (nee Monteith), 96, and a long-time resident of St. Richard’s Parish in South Philadelphia, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday night, March 26, 2020.
Lydia left behind three loving daughters, Denise Bruce, Dawn Gross, and Shawnee Beatty; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her devoted husband John Maturo, daughter Kathleen Brady and three sisters, Anna “Tootie” Iacona, Jean Miozzi, and Isabel Heidel.
Family and close friends of Lydia will always remember her unwavering love of God, devotion to the Blessed Mother; gentle, loving & caring ways; and her polished, immaculate appearance.                                                                                                                                                                                                Viewing Saturday, 9:30am at St. Richard’s Church, 3010 S. 18th St., Philadelphia PA 19145.  Funeral Mass 10:30am.  Internment SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
