AGRESTI
Kathleen (nee Porreca) passed on June 24, 2021.
Kathleen Porreca Agresti, a long-time medical assistant in South Philadelphia for Doctors Anthony Giampetro and Thomas Scheuerman.
Mrs. Agresti was a fixture in 1400 Wolf Street medical office, working with hundreds of patients who knew her as a compassionate and knowledgeable medical aide who took the time to hear, not only about the patient’s ailments, but their life stories.
At home Mrs. Agresti was an accomplished baker and cook who always showed up at gatherings for family and friends with a basket of goodies, from handmade white chocolate roses to festive Italian style cookies.
“If you needed help, whether it was in finding the right medical treatment or hosting a shower or Communion party, Kathleen was always there,” said her cousin, Arlene Notoro Morgan. “She was strong-willed and made it her business to know everything that was going on in her neighborhood. She was a real South Philly girl who loved hosting the annual New Year’s Day parade open house that no one in the family dared miss.”
A 1964 graduate of St. Maria Goretti High School, Mrs. Agresti was married for 48 years to Ronald Agresti of Philadelphia. The daughter of Victoria Notoro Porreca and Nicholas Porreca, Mrs. Agresti was raised in St. Nicolas of Tolentine Parish in South Philadelphia, where she worked in the medical field for most of her life.
In addition to Ronald Agresti, Mrs. Agresti leaves a daughter, Susan Agresti Rosini, her son-in-law Phil Rosini, three triplet granddaughters: Isabella, Veronica and Victoria, all of Springfield, Pa.; a sister Roseann (late husband John) Cicalese of Marlton, New Jersey. Also, her late brother Dominic (his late wife Janice) Porreca. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She spent summers at the Wildwood Villas in a home she refurbished and equipped for her grandchildren’s activities and family parties. “She had no desire to see the world and never flew on an airplane.,” said Morgan. “The one time she went to Disney World, she drove. Her world was her family and friends and, of course, the patients who sought her advice.”
Viewing Wednesday 9:00am at Stella Maris Church, 2901 S. 10th St. Phila PA 19148. Funeral Mass 11:00am. Internment private.

Kathy was like a second mother to me. She loved my kids like her own. She was a fighter until the end, always having a positive attitude and seeing the brighter side of things. The holidays won’t be the same without her. Rest In Peace Kathy 🙏🏻
