FRANCANO

Joan “Joni” P.  passed on December 29, 2020 in the nursing home where she resided.  Joni was born on January 14, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA.   She worked as a Legal Assistant at Caesar, Rivise, Bernstein, Cohon and Pokotilow, Ltd for many years.  Joni was an avid reader and loved cross word puzzles.  She enjoyed online and QVC shopping.  Playing bingo was her favorite game.  She could play 20 or more cards at one time.  She loved gambling whether at the casino or playing lottery scratch offs.  Joni had an immense passion for life, knowledge and making people smile.  While in the nursing home, she became a spokesperson and advocate for the elderly for many years! Despite all her hardships with her health, Joni was always upbeat!  She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.  She is survived by her Sister-in-law Nancy Francano, stepchildren Stephen and Patricia Francano, Niece Nancy Fritz, Nephew Dino Francano, Grandchildren, Stephen and Stephanie; Friends (niece) Joann Brewer, (baby brother) Bob Silver, Barbara Johnson and many other close friends and relatives.  A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday June 12. 2021 10am in St. Monic Church 17th and Ritner Sts, Phila., Pa. 19145
